Classification Appeals Committee

The Classification Appeals Process offers unit members the opportunity to appeal the classification. Individuals should ensure that any outside documentation to support the appeal, such as transcripts, is in the personnel file at the college. Appellants should also be sure to enclose all information for consideration in the review. Certifications, licensures, and professional development point criteria have not been developed and are not subjects of appeal at this time. The Classification Appeals Committee consists of the following members:

Representatives of the Community College Presidents:

  • Stephen Fabbrucci, Northern Essex Community College
  • Gary McPhee, Middlesex Community College
  • Katherine Piraino, Massachusetts Board of Higher Education
  • Maureen Wildey, Holyoke Community College

Representatives of the Massachusetts Community College Council:

  • Maureen Bourbeau, Springfield Technical Community College
  • Rick Doud, Massachusetts Community College Council
  • Marilyn Martin, Quinsigamond Community College
  • Laurie Ranger, Middlesex Community College

Please note: As of March 10, 2008, the office of the Massachusetts Board of Higher Education
was renamed the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education. The name change will be integrated into
prior existing website content gradually over the next few months.
