Financial Aid

The Board of Higher Education’s Office of Student Financial Assistance (OSFA) is responsible for the management and oversight of all state-funded financial aid programs, including MASSGrant, the state’s largest need-based financial aid program. OSFA also manages three statewide initiatives: GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs), the Police Career Incentive Pay Program, and the Ronald E. McNair Reserve.

The Board of Higher Education also helps develop statewide financial aid policy in Massachusetts and is the principal state agency for promoting access to higher education through early awareness around the availability of financial aid to help students and families meet college costs.

Institutions may use the website to access MASSGrant records for students attending your institution, process financial aid forms and refunds, access GEARUP student information and participate in online year-end reporting.
